In March this year, Emaar Hospitality Group’s COO Mark Kirby promised that the group’s pipeline of hotels over the next two years would “set the industry alight.”. Here we can reveal which properties are opening in the region.
Emaar Hospitality has three brands: Address Hotels & Resorts, Vida Hotels and Resorts, and Rove Hotels (which is a joint venture with Meraas). Of those three, we now have a full roadmap of openings for Address and Vida for the UAE, Saudi Arabia and beyond. Read on for the group’s full list of upcoming openings.
UAE
Address Fujairah Beach Resort
Due to open in quarter two of 2021, Address Fujairah Beach Resort will mark the brand’s debut in the emirate. It will be located along Al Aqah Beach, 50 minutes from the city centre and under two hours from Dubai International Airport.
Spread across seven floors, it the five-star beach resort will house 196 keys as well as four F&B venues. The exact details of these restaurants aren’t yet known, but we do know they will take the shape of an all-day dining venue, a lobby lounge, a specialty restaurant and a pool bar. The hotel will also have its own spa, a fitness centre, three swimming pools and water sports facilities.
Palace Beach Resort Fujairah
Opening in November this year will be Palace Beach Resort Fujairah, also under the Address Hotels & Resorts brand. It will stand at the Corniche Road in the emirate, 12 minutes from Fujairah’s city centre.
It will have 167 keys over six floors, as well as four F&B outlets in the same format. It will also have four meeting rooms, a fitness centre, a swimming pool and a kids pool.
Vida Beach Marina Yacht Club
Promising “unmatchable views” of the Dubai Marina, Vida Dubai Marina Yacht Club is expected to open in December this year (TBC). It will have 158 keys across 57 floors, as well as an all-day dining venue and a destination bar, along with a conference spa, a hairdressers, a spa, fitness centre and pool. Offering both rooms and suites, the hotel will also be connected to The Vida Residences.
Address Residences Dubai Opera
Slated to open during March 2022, Address Residences Dubai Opera will be an up-market serviced apartment development in the emirate’s Downtown district. It will feature two towers inspired by the sailboats of the Arabian Sea, while a podium between them will house retail, leisure and entertainment facilities. Altogether it will have 809 rooms, two restaurants, a gym, pool, games room, screening room and a bakery.
Palace Al Khan
Located in downtown Sharjah, Palace Al Khan does not yet have a confirmed opening date, though we do know it will offer a blend of nature and Sharjah’s downtown history, all within modern waterfront living. Once complete it will have 88 keys, two restaurants, a conference space, a spa and gym and a hairdresser.
Saudi Arabia
Jabal Omar Address Makkah
Emaar will enter the Holy City of Makkah with the 1,484 key Jabal Omar Address Makkah in the second quarter of this year. Spanning 75 floors, rooms will range from the 42 sq m deluxe king, all the way up to the 470 sq m penthouse suite. It will also have two restaurants, a fitness centre within each tower, and plenty of events space.
Turkey
Address Istanbul
By July of this year, the Turkish capital of Istanbul will welcome its own Address hotel. Located on the Asian side of the city, the property will overlook the Princess Islands and the Bosphorus River, putting it 20 minutes from the Haghia Sofia Museum and The Blue Mosque. In terms of facilities, the 182 key hotel will have four F&B outlets, a 1,010 sqm ballroom, a spa and health club, a fitness centre, a swimming pool and a kids pool.
Bahrain
Also opening this July will be the Vida Beach Resort Marassi Al Bahrain. Adjacent to the waterfront, the hotel’s entrance will be through a water feature-filled courtyard which will take guests into the “tech-savvy” hotel.
With the direct beach access, the hotel will have its own rooftop dining terrace, as well as a destination bar. 158 rooms will be spread over 57 floors, with rooms going up to the 150 sqm presidential suite.
Address Beach Resort Marassi Al Bahrain
A stone’s throw away will be the Address Beach Resort Marassi Al Bahrain, opening in September this year. Situated on the northern tip of the island, the property promises to combine both city and resort-style living. It will rise 10 floors, with 117 rooms spread across the property and five F&B outlets serving guests.
Rest of the world
Both Egypt and Serbia are expected to welcome new Emaar hotels in the near future, with Egypt on track to have both the Address Uptown Cairo and Vida Marassi Marina opening next year. Serbia meanwhile will have the Vida Belgrade Waterfront, with an opening date yet to be announced.
